Head of the Junior Research Group Complex Biosignal Analysis (f/m/d)
Full-time, limited until 28.02.2027
The Institute of Medical Informatics researches innovative methods and tools for cross-institutional collaboration in medical research, teaching and care. There is close cooperation with partners from healthcare, science and industry. The Institute works together with colleagues from the fields of statistics, data analysis, artificial intelligence and ethics and is involved in several degree programs on campus. Motivated people of international origin are explicitly welcome at our institute; about half of our team consists of women.
The scientific focus of the junior research group is the development of methods for the analysis of multidimensional biosignals in biomedical research and care. In particular, this should also include biosignal recordings from long-term monitoring, such as sleep monitoring or the use of wearables in medical care.
Your tasks
- Expansion and technical management of the junior research group with currently two research assistants
- Methods and tools for the analysis of multidimensional biosignals, in particular for long-term monitoring
- Independent scientific research in close cooperation with clinical partners
- Representation of the field of biosignal processing in teaching
- Involvement in national and international research networks, e.g. in the Somnolink and Acribis projects as part of the Medical Informatics Initiative
Your qualifications
- An above-average doctorate in computer science, engineering, physics or comparable disciplines
- Interest in a scientific career
- Very good written and spoken English skills
- experience in biosignal processing and/or time series analysis
- possibly experience with methods of nonlinear dynamics and/or analysis of multidimensional and multimodal time series
- possibly initial experience in the technical management of interdisciplinary teams
