GMDS “Medical Informatics” department under new management

Prof. Dr. Ulrich Sax (head of the scientific working group Translational Collaborative Research at the Institute of Medical Informatics) was elected as the new head of the Department of Medical Informatics (FAMI) of the GMDS (German Society for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology) on October 1, 2024 (two-year term of office).

The “Medical Informatics” section of the GMDS represents current topics of medical informatics within the GMDS and externally and coordinates the working groups that demonstrate the breadth of the subject and the methods used in the subject. The working and project groups organize their own events, make significant contributions to the organization of the annual conferences, support established conferences as co-organizers and contribute to the further development of the subject with important publications and well-founded statements
