Institute Day of the Department of Medical Informatics 2026

On March 5, 2026, Department Director Prof. Dr. Dagmar Krefting welcomed the Medical Informatics team to the first joint Institute Day of 2026. The event kicked off with an engaging keynote by Dr. Martin Haubrock (Institute of Medical Bioinformatics) on current developments in the prediction of transcription factor binding sites. This was followed by short project pitches on current projects at the institute, which were then presented and discussed at interactive stations. At one station, participants used building blocks to creatively experience the complexity of documenting workflows in research. The day concluded with a social gathering featuring sports games from the Campus Cruiser, a barbecue, and music. We would like to thank the Translational Research Informatics team, led by Prof. Dr. Ulrich Sax, who organized this year's event.
