Screen4Care Common Data Model Workshop in Göttingen

On January 30th, the Screen4Care Common Data Model Workshop for work packages 2 and 4 (WP2 and WP4) took place at the Heart & Brain Center Göttingen (HBCG).
The goal of the meeting was to discuss the common data model and use cases such as NMD (neuromuscular diseases), to exchange updates on current progress, and to work on finalizing the Screen4Care Common Data Model. Among the participants were Prof. Dr. Dagmar Krefting (Director of the Department of Medical Informatics) and Elisabeth Nyoungui (Department of Medical Informatics).
Screen4Care is a European research project led by the University of Ferrara and Pfizer that aims to improve the early detection of rare genetic diseases in newborns. The project is divided into six interdisciplinary work packages. WP2, led by Prof. Dr. Richard Röttger (University of Southern Denmark), focuses on the development of an interoperable, federated metadata repository and a customized common data model for rare diseases. WP4, headed by PD Dr. Jana Zschüntzsch (University Medical Center Göttingen), develops and validates algorithms to identify previously undiagnosed patients using electronic health data.
The workshop brought together international project partners from research, clinics, and industry both on-site and online, providing an important platform for professional exchange and close coordination within the work packages of the Screen4Care consortium.
