NFDI4Health Strategy Retreat in Göttingen

On May 5, 2026, the Steering Committee convened in Göttingen for the annual NFDI4Health retreat to deliberate on key strategic issues. The meeting was hosted by Prof. Dr. Ulrich Sax (Head of Translational Collaborative Research at the Department for Medical Informatics). A major focus of the discussions was the further internationalization of the consortium. As a guest speaker, Prof. Philipp Wieder (Deputy Director of the GWDG) provided insights into the current status of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) and addressed key questions regarding collaboration and service integration at the European level. Furthermore, the committee discussed the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to be used for evaluating the NFDI4Health services and offerings developed to date, as well as strategies to further incentivize data holders to actively engage with NFDI4Health. Planning for this year's consortium meeting was also on the agenda, with the aim of preparing for the upcoming joint steps.
