NFDI4Health-Webinar: Secure Processing Environments
On April 15, 2026, the first session of the NFDI4Health TRE event series took place, marking a successful launch of this new format.
With around 70 participants, the event attracted strong interest. Prof. Dr. Ulrich Sax (Department of Medical Informatics, UMG) and Dr. Marie Gebhardt (TMF e.V.) engaged the audience in a lively podcast-style conversation, providing valuable insights into the application and relevance of the Five Safes principles. Instead of a traditional presentation, the session focused on an interactive dialogue, making key concepts accessible and practical.
A particular highlight was the active involvement of the audience. Participants were invited to contribute their questions, helping to shape the discussion and bring in diverse perspectives.
The session not only offered a comprehensive introduction to the Five Safes framework but also demonstrated the value of open, interactive formats for knowledge exchange and community building. We are looking forward to the upcoming sessions and further engaging discussions on Trusted Research Environments and Secure Processing Environments.
