Open Science Meetup "Sensitive Data"

The 38th Open Science Göttingen Meet-up took place at the UMG on September 22, 2026. The event was organized by Dr. Harald Kusch (Department of Medical Informatics). Participants explored best practices and potential pitfalls associated with handling sensitive research data.

Florian Hallaschka (Data Protection Officer at the University of Göttingen) gave a brief presentation on the legal framework for data protection; Dr. Harald Kusch spoke about clinical data in secure processing environments; Barbara Löhde (SUB Göttingen) discussed sensitive qualitative social science data; and the presentation by Dr. Laura Botzet (Georg-Elias-Müller Institute of Psychology at the University of Göttingen) focused on synthetic data. This was followed by a discussion on data exchange procedures and points of contact.
