Future Day 2026

As part of Future Day, which took place on April 23, we were delighted to welcome a total of 25 interested children to our department. Through a varied program, the participants gained fascinating insights into various areas of our work.

A particular highlight was the tour of the biobank and the data center, during which the children learned more about the importance of sample storage and research, as well as the connection to computer science. Furthermore, basic information regarding IT professions and relevant study opportunities was provided to offer initial guidance for their future careers. The underlying principles of modern IT infrastructures were explained in an engaging and accessible manner. This was complemented by an introduction to the topic of Artificial Intelligence, which met with great interest. During a shared lunch, we had the opportunity to exchange ideas. We are delighted by the strong interest shown and hope to have provided the children with exciting insights and new perspectives.
